Connect a LINE Official Account in 3Chat.ai

Overview

After connecting your LINE Official Account to 3Chat, messages sent to that account can be received in 3Chat and handled by your 3Chat Agent.

Entry Path

In the 3Chat admin panel, go to:

Channel → Social Platform → LINE

On the LINE page, you will see the connected account list and the Connect LINE Official Account button in the top-right corner.

Click this button to open the setup wizard.


Setup Flow Overview

The setup flow has 2 steps:

Step 1: Initialize your LINE Official Account

Watch the video in the wizard and follow the instructions to complete the LINE Official Account setup and developer platform configuration.

Step 2: Enter account details and verify the connection

Enter the account details from the LINE developer platform into 3Chat, then click Verify Connection.

If verification succeeds, the account is connected successfully. If verification fails, please check whether the information is correct.


Step 1: Open the setup wizard

Go to:

Channel → Social Platform → LINE

Click Connect LINE Official Account in the top-right corner.

This will open the setup wizard.


Step 2: Watch the video and complete the LINE account setup

In Step 1 of the wizard, please watch the video first and follow the instructions to complete the LINE Official Account setup and developer platform configuration.

During this process, you will need to complete the following actions shown in the video:

  • Create a LINE Official Account
  • Enable Messaging API
  • Open the LINE developer platform
  • Locate the required account details
  • Add the 3Chat Webhook URL in the LINE backend

Note

Since the LINE setup involves multiple pages and configuration steps, we recommend following the video carefully to complete the setup.

After this step, please make sure you have:

  • Channel ID
  • App Secret
  • Access Token

Also make sure the webhook has been configured as shown in the video.


Step 3: Enter your LINE account details

After completing the initial setup, move to Step 2 of the wizard: Connect Account.

On this page, enter the following information:

  • Channel ID
  • App Secret
  • Access Token

After entering the details, click Verify Connection.


Where to find these details

All three values come from the corresponding Messaging API Channel in LINE Developers Console.

Channel ID

In LINE Developers Console, open the corresponding Messaging API Channel and find the Channel ID in the basic channel information section.

App Secret

In the same Messaging API Channel, find Channel Secret in the basic channel information section.

In 3Chat, this field is labeled App Secret.

Access Token

Open the Messaging API page of the same channel, then find the Channel Access Token in the related configuration section.

Copy it and paste it into the Access Token field in 3Chat.

Important

In LINE, this value is called Channel Secret.

In 3Chat, the same value is labeled App Secret.

So:

3Chat App Secret = LINE Channel Secret


Step 4: Verify the connection

After entering the details, click Verify Connection.

The system will check whether the account can be connected successfully using the information you entered.

If verification succeeds

If verification succeeds, the connected LINE account information will be displayed on the page.

This means the LINE Official Account has been recognized successfully by 3Chat and is ready to be connected.

If verification fails

If verification fails, please check the following:

  • Whether the Channel ID is correct
  • Whether the App Secret is correct
  • Whether the Access Token is correct

If any of these values is incorrect, verification may fail.


What to do if verification fails

If verification does not pass, please check the following in order:

1. Check the Channel ID

Make sure you entered the Channel ID from the correct Messaging API Channel.

2. Check the App Secret

Make sure you entered the Channel Secret from the same channel in LINE Developers Console.

3. Check the Access Token

Make sure you copied the correct Channel Access Token, and that it is complete with no missing characters or extra spaces.

4. Make sure all values come from the same channel

The following three values must all come from the same Messaging API Channel:

  • Channel ID
  • App Secret
  • Access Token

If they come from different channels, verification will fail.

5. Verify again

After correcting the information, click Verify Again to retry.


Step 5: Finish the setup

Once verification succeeds, click Finish to complete the connection.

After the setup is completed, the LINE Official Account will appear in the LINE account list, and messages from that account can then be received in 3Chat.


FAQ

Why does Step 1 use a video instead of a written guide?

Because the LINE initialization process involves multiple backend pages and configuration actions, a video is the clearest way to show the exact navigation path and setup steps.

Are App Secret and Channel Secret the same?

Yes.

In LINE Developers Console, it is called Channel Secret.

In 3Chat, it is labeled App Secret.

What is the most common reason for verification failure?

The most common reason is that one of the following values is incorrect:

  • Channel ID
  • App Secret
  • Access Token

I followed the video, but verification still fails. Why?

Please first check whether all three values come from the same Messaging API Channel, and confirm that there are no missing characters or extra spaces when copying them.
