How to Configure WeChat Customer Service?

3Chat supports two methods for connecting the WeChat Customer Service channel:

  • Method 1: If you have opened a 3Chat space through the 3Chat official website, you can initiate the authorization to link your WeChat Work account by going to “WeChat Interconnection”“WeChat Customer Service”.

  • Method 2: If you haven’t opened a 3Chat space, you can search for the “3Chat.ai” app in the WeChat Work client app store and install the app.

:high_voltage: Method 1: Authorize WeChat Customer Service via 3Chat Backend

:pushpin: Steps:

1. Log in to your 3Chat space and navigate to “WeChat Interconnection”“WeChat Customer Service” in the left-side menu.

2. Click “Get Authorization Code”. If you have already logged into your WeChat Work account in your browser, you will be directed to the next page. If not, use the administrator’s WeChat Work account to scan the QR code and log in.

3. After logging in, select the WeChat Page(s) you want to connect to 3Chat. Agree to the platform terms and customer service permissions, and then click “Agree and Add” to complete the installation.

4. After installation, you will be redirected back to the “WeChat Customer Service” page in 3Chat.

5.Next, continue with the “Authorize WeChat Customer Service” section to configure customer service account authorization.

:high_voltage: Method 2: Install 3Chat via WeChat Work Client

If your company is already using WeChat Work, open the WeChat Work client, go to [Workspace][Select Apps], search for “3Chat”, and install the “3Chat.ai” app. This will quickly set up the 3Chat space while installing the app.

Once installed, you can open the “3Chat.ai” app in the workspace to define and restrict the intelligent agent’s behaviors.

1. Log in to the WeChat Work backend and go to the workspace.

2. Click “Select Apps” at the top right of the workspace page to enter the WeChat Work app market, and search for the “3Chat.ai” app.

3. Click the “3Chat.ai” app card to enter the app details page and click “Add App”, or directly click “Add” on the app card to go to the installation page.

4. The first installation will give you access to the “3Chat Growth Plan” with a 15-day free trial. Click “Agree to the authorization and add” to complete the installation.

5. After installation, return to the workspace page and click the “3Chat.ai” app to enter the 3Chat space. Upon first entry, you will be invited to authorize your WeChat Work avatar. Click “Agree” to continue. After filling out the startup questionnaire, you can begin experiencing the intelligent services provided by 3Chat.

:person_tipping_hand: Authorize WeChat Customer Service Account

After completing the installation of the 3Chat.ai app, you need to configure the WeChat customer service account and authorize it to 3Chat.ai.

1. Open the WeChat Work client on your mobile device and check the message list. You will see the WeChat Customer Service app message with a prompt to authorize the account. Click “Go to Authorization” to start the authorization.

2. The first time you enter the account management list, there will be a default customer service account with the same name as the company. If you need to add a new customer service account, click “No suitable account, create one” to add an account. After creating the account, select the account to authorize for the 3Chat.ai app and click “Confirm Authorization” to complete the operation.

3. Re-enter the 3Chat.ai app through the workspace and go to “WeChat Interconnection”“WeChat Customer Service” in the left-side menu to view the authorization results of the WeChat customer service account.

Change Authorized WeChat Customer Service Account

1. Change Authorization on Mobile Device

  • In the message list, open the WeChat Customer Service message

  • click “Go to Authorization”

  • select “Change Authorization” to change the account authorized for 3Chat.ai.

2. Change Authorization in WeChat Work Backend

Integrating WeChat Service Account (Public Account)

This section explains how to display the customer service account on a public account or service account, with the service account as an example

1. Automatic Integration

  • In the WeChat Work management backend, open the WeChat Customer Service app and find the ‘Public Account Integration’ under the integration scenarios.

  • After entering the page, click ‘Go to Integrate’

  • Similarly, select the customer service account that needs authorization, click ‘Go to Authorize,’ and a pop-up window will display the authorization QR code. Note: When binding the WeChat customer service account through this method, WeChat officially restricts the binding to only one customer service account.

  • Open the WeChat app on your mobile device, use the service account administrator’s WeChat to scan the authorization QR code. Select the service account to be integrated, click ‘Update Authorization,’ and complete the binding operation.

  • After completing the operation on the mobile device, the page will prompt that the binding is successful.

  • At this point, go to the service account and send a private message. The service account will provide the business card of the WeChat customer service that has been successfully integrated. Click on the card to start a conversation with the customer service.

  • If the QR code binding process shows a message ‘Connection Failed,’ you can go to the WeChat Public Platform, log into the service account management backend, go to the [Settings and Development]:right_arrow:[Account Settings] page, switch to the ‘Authorization Management’ tab, and check the platform details. Click ‘Cancel Authorization’ at the bottom and then re-scan the QR code to bind again.

2.Manual Integration: Integrate the customer service account’s inquiry entry into the service account’s menu.

  • In the WeChat Work management backend, open the WeChat Customer Service app and select the customer service account that needs to be displayed in the service account’s menu.

  • Go to the account’s details page and copy the customer service account’s URL link information.

  • Go to the WeChat Public Platform, log in to the service account management backend, and go to [Interactive Management]:right_arrow:[Custom Menu].

  • Select the menu location where the customer service inquiry entry should be placed, which can be configured in either the first-level or second-level menu. After determining the menu item location, select ‘Go to Webpage’ and paste the customer service account’s link information in the ‘Webpage Link’ field below. Click ‘Save’ and ‘Publish’.

  • Visit the service account, click the configured menu item in the chat page, and you can start a conversation with customer service.

Integrate WeChat Mini Program

  • Similarly, select the customer service account that needs to be authorized, click ‘Go to Authorize,’ and a pop-up window will display the authorization QR code. Note: When binding the WeChat customer service account through this method, WeChat officially restricts the binding to only one customer service account.

  • Open the WeChat app on your mobile device, use the Mini Program administrator’s WeChat to scan the authorization QR code. Select the Mini Program to be integrated, click ‘Update Authorization,’ and complete the binding operation. For steps, refer to the WeChat service account binding process.

  • After completing the authorization, go to the Mini Program customer service and send a message. A business card of the WeChat customer service will appear. Click the card to start a conversation with customer service.
